St Albans City Women began the 2026-27 Eastern Region Premier Division season with a 2-1 home defeat to AFC Sudbury at Clarence Park. The visitors led when a Jordanne Sillitoe cross went in off Mel Hall, Grainne Kellet levelled after a high press left her an open goal, and Jess Allen’s header restored Sudbury’s lead before the break. The Saints pushed on in the second half, with new signings Nicole Spittle and Aimee O’Malley in the side, but could not find a second goal.
